Welcome to Shiori EPUB Reader ("the App"), developed by Endofday. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
1. License and Permitted Use
We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and limited license to download, install, and use the App on mobile devices owned or controlled by you, strictly in accordance with these Terms and the Google Play Store Terms of Service.
You agree that you will not:
- Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App.
- Modify, adapt, improve, translate, or create derivative works from the App.
- Distribute, lease, sell, or rent the App to any third party.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of local laws.
2. Book Content and Responsibility
Shiori EPUB Reader is a local e-book reading tool. The App does not provide, host, or distribute any books or content. You are solely responsible for obtaining the EPUB files you read using the App.
You warrant that you possess the necessary legal rights to read and store any files you import into the App. The developer is not responsible for any copyright infringements caused by your use of the App to read unlicensed or pirated files.
3. Optional Google Drive Sync
The App offers an optional Cloud Sync feature that uses your own Google Drive storage (via Google APIs) to back up and sync your EPUB files and reading progress. By enabling this feature, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your use of Google Drive is subject to the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for managing your Google Drive storage limits.
- The developer operates no intermediary servers and has no control over the availability, security, or data integrity of your Google Drive account.
4. In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)
Certain premium features, content, or services within the App may be offered for purchase (In-App Purchases). By initiating a transaction within the App, you agree that:
- All financial transactions, payments, and subscriptions are processed and managed securely by the Google Play Store and Google Play Billing Library.
- Purchases are subject to Google Play Store's billing Terms of Service and refund guidelines. The developer is not responsible for refund issues, payment failures, or unauthorized charges processed by Google Play.
- Premium feature access is linked to your Google Account. If your Google Account is suspended or terminated, you may lose access to purchases made in the App.
5. Ads and Third-Party Links
The App displays advertising served by Google AdMob to support its development. While using the App, you may interact with advertisements or links to third-party websites. You acknowledge that third-party services are outside the developer's control, and the developer is not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR LOSS-FREE (INCLUDING READ STATUSES AND NOTES).
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER (ENDOFDAY) BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the App following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
